The Plateau State government has relaxed the 24-hours curfew imposed on Jos- Bukuru metropolis, effective Wednesday, following a review of security reports indicating a return to normalcy in the city and its environs.
According to a statement by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor, the curfew will now be in effect from 2pm to 6pm daily and is subject to further review as the situation improves.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, urged residents to move freely within the stipulated time frame and comply with the directives, operating within the confines of the law.
Additionally, the governor praised the security operatives who worked with “diligence and commitment to ensuring strict compliance with the curfew.”
The governor encouraged citizens to remain vigilant to prevent further breakdown in law and order, assuring residents of the government’s unwavering commitment to their safety and well-being. He also urged cooperation with security personnel and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
