The Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City has announced the death of its Emeritus Archbishop, Patrick Ebosele, who passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 92.
According to a statement released by the Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oyanoafoh, on August 6, Archbishop Ekpu died after a brief illness.
The statement, signed by Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubueze, called on the faithful to pray for the repose of Archbishop Ekpu’s soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
“Let us remember him in our prayers. May he rest in peace, and may the souls of all faithful departed rest in peace through the mercy of God,” the statement added.
Archbishop Ekpu’s passing is a significant loss to the Catholic community in Benin City, and he will be deeply missed.
