Pope Francis has committed the plight of the war-torn countries of  the Holy Land, Ukraine, and Myanmar to the Blessed Virgin Mother for peace to be enthroned and also enjoined the faithful to pray the Rosary this month of May.

The Holy Father put into the hands the of the Blessed Mother those plagued by the consequences of war and conflicts around the world, and asked the faithful to embrace the great benefits of praying the Rosary.

He made this charge while at the General Audience, in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday.

The Pope called to mind that Wednesday, 8 May, marks the feast of Our Lady of  the Rosary and falls in the month of May, which is devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

On this day, he observed that the Church raises the prayer of supplication to Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii.

“I invite everyone,” he insisted, “to invoke Mary’s intercession, so that the Lord may grant peace to the whole world, especially to the dear and martyred Ukraine, and to Palestine, Israel, and Myanmar.”

Furthermore, Pope Francis said a prayer of supplication for the young people, the sick, the elderly, and newly weds to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

“I urge everyone to value praying the Holy Rosary this May.”

Pope Francis during his final blessings, equally made a request to the faithful imploring them saying: “I urge everyone to value praying the Holy Rosary this May.”
